A baby shower is a fun way for family, friends and coworkers to celebrate new life and share advice on parenting. As everyone “showers” the expecting mom with gifts, they share stories, eat great food, and have a fantastic time. The shower is usually held during the last two months of pregnancy; however, post-birth showers are becoming more popular. Ask the mom-to-be if she would prefer a post-birth shower instead of a traditional, pre-birth shower.
Planning a shower can become extremely overwhelming and expensive because everything has to be “Perfect,” right? Wrong! You can host a successful, stress-free event without breaking the bank, with a bit of planning.
There are so many baby shower ideas and themes that you can get online for free. Most of the sites offer tutorials and printable downloads for games, favors and decorations that even the novice crafters can pull off on their own. They pretty much have everything you need to make your hosting duties easier. And if you don’t have the time or aren’t confident in your skills to make the decoration that’s ok. There are plenty of Etsy sellers who have an awesome selection of decorations at affordable prices.
As you may or may not already know I’m a self-proclaimed “organization junkie,” which means I have a spreadsheet and checklist for just about everything. Organization is key when it comes to successful party planning! So if you’ve been designated for the task or if you’ve volunteered, take a look at part 1 of our Baby Shower Checklist.
