I love to cook from scratch, but there are days when I just don’t feel like it. Today was one of those nights, so I decided to take the hassle out of dinner tonight with a quick and easy meal. My husband really loves soup, but not all canned soups, because most are high in sodium. Stews and soups are his favorite cold weather food. Since, tonight was an unusually rainy, cold day for this time of the year he wanted soup for dinner. Of course, he wanted me to make one of his favorite recipes, but agreed to try one of the Bertolli Meal Soups.
Last night I couldn’t decide on just one, so I picked up two packages of the Bertolli Meal Soups. My husband wanted to try Tuscan Style Beef & Vegetables, but I had the taste for chicken, so in the end I won. We ended up making the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken.

I love how I don’t have to stand in front of the stove for hours, to make this meal. I added the contents of the bag to a pot, added water and let the soup simmer. While the soup was cooking, we brushed melted butter on a loaf of french bread, and put it in the oven to brown. In less than 20 minutes our dinner was complete! The soup was flavorful and the chicken was delicious. The vegetables to chicken ratio was just right, unlike other products that don’t have enough meat. This soup is a great alternative to canned soup and we will be trying the other varieties soon.

This is the first I have heard of this product. I do not think is is in our area yet. Am I understanding correctly that this is a prepared “frozen” product. I will have to check it out, your right, some days there just is no time :) Thanks for sharing.
I have recently heard of Bertolli meal soup but I havent seen it in the stores here yet. I am all for this for a quick meal as we all have busy lives and some night we dont have time to cook a meal. Canned soups have alot of salt in most of them. I like to make my own soups but dont always have the time to either so Bertollis would be great for those occassions.
