Protect Your Skin with Beyond Coastal Sunscreen Review

Protecting our skin is very important; but sadly, many people think brown and dark skin tones don’t need sunscreen. This is a myth! In fact people of all skin colors, should wear sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure when going outdoors. As a brown skin girl with sensitive skin, I know that getting sunburned is no fun.

During the summer months I rarely stay indoors. I am on the go with 10+ kids all summer long. Whether we’re heading to the beach, waterpark, amusement park, or taking a walk we always make sure to have sunscreen on and with us. When it comes to outdoor activities, there’s no hiding from the sun. Needless to say, we go through a lot of sunscreen each week. I am always looking for a sunscreen that will protect all of us and keep us safe, when were out having fun. There are many different types, ingredients, and the wording on labels are changing, so finding the right sunscreen can take some trial and error. As if it weren’t confusing enough to pick one out, we are now hearing warnings from some groups that some sunscreen ingredients are dangerous.

Sun Care Products

Beyond Coastal is a line of sun care products that offer active and natural broad spectrum protection for both UVA and UVB rays.

I received a sample pack of Beyond Coastal sun care products. It includes the Kids Natural Sunscreen SPF 30+, Natural Clear Sunscreen SPF 30+, Active Face Stick SPF 30, Active Sunscreen SPF 30+ and Citrus Grove Active Lip Balm.

Active Sun Care Products

Beyond Coastal products are:

  • Gluten Free
  • Cruelty Free
  • Fragrance Free
  • Oxybenzone Free
  • Paraben Free
  • Petroleum Free

The Active Face Stick SPF 30, is one of my favorites. It’s easy to apply and the kids were able to apply themselves. Best of all it is isn’t messy so, I don’t have to worry about them getting it all over the place. It does have a citrus scent, but thankfully it isn’t too strong and fades quickly.

The Kids Natural Sunscreen SPF 30+has a thick consistency and was a little hard to rub in for the younger kids. It does dry clear, but you have to work it in. It’s water resistant, so it was great for our day at the pool.

The Citrus Grove Active Lip Balm is great for lips that dry out quickly. It moisturizes them keeping them soft, smooth and protected. I really like how easy it is to apply to lips that are already dry. The scent isn’t overpowering, and the girls didn’t mind using something other than their favorite lip balm.

The Natural Clear Sunscreen SPF 30+ and Active Sunscreen SPF 30+ worked well, but they took a little work to rub in.

After using all the products, I can now say that I have found a line of sun care products for all 10+ of us. They are effective and didn’t cause a reaction on any of our skin. We plan to continue to use Beyond Coastal products for the rest of the summer. They are definitely some sunscreens worth checking out!

I received a product or products to share my thoughts. Opinions are my own and NOT influenced by any compensation.

  1. I never used to wear sunscreen thinking I didn’t need it but I regret it now because I think the sun has taken a toll on my skin. I also had no idea there was gluten in sunscreen.

I also would have never thought there was gluten in sunscreen. I try to use sunscreen during the summer months but often forget to put it on before I leave. Trying to be better now that I have a 2month old.

I’m glad to hear these products are paraben free. I never knew much about parabens, until a good friend of mine got breast cancer. Apparently, there are some pretty bad things about parabens and truly it’s best to have them far away from you and your body :).

I really like that its paraben and petroleum free! I’ve been needing sunblock like that for a while.

Never knew there was gluten in sunscreen..

  6. There’s gluten in sunscreen?!? Who knew. Haha, not this girl. Also I like that it’s petroleum free, maybe it wouldn’t be as greasy as the rest. I can’t stand that oily greasy feel from sunscreens.
