Title: Happily Never After (The Grimm Chronicles Book 2)
Author: Isabella Fontaine
Publisher: Brew City Press
Format: PDF, 138 pages
Summary:
200 years ago, the Brothers Grimm unleashed their stories upon the world.
Literally.
Now the characters of the Grimms’ stories walk among us. With every day that passes, they grow more evil. They are the Corrupted, and only a hero can save them.
For 18-year-old Alice Goodenough, that means taking precious time off from her summer vacation. In addition to volunteering at the local library, Alice must stop the Corrupted who are now actively hunting her down. With the help of her magic pen and her trusty rabbit friend, the world has suddenly gotten a lot more complex. The Corrupted are everywhere, and only Alice can see them for what they truly are.
My Thoughts:
Another great book! Happily Never After is book 2 in the Grimm Chronicles by Isabella Fontaine and it picks up only a short time after the first. I really enjoyed the beginning, it jumped right into an action scene and never left me bored or uninterested for the entire book.
Being the second book in the series there was little to no character introduction (aside from a new super villain!). Like the first one I enjoyed the authors twist on the fairytales used to make the story. I think that the most fascinating thing about this series is that it asks the question “What happens when the fairytale is over?” and maybe because I’m a cynic that question plagued me when I was younger. I really love the way the fairytale characters are manipulated and it’s completely believable that that may have happened to them after their stories were done.
One of my favorite aspects of these books and one I think that I failed to mention in my last review is that at the end of each book the author graciously includes the actual Grimm fairytales from which she borrows her characters for that book. I really appreciate that because I wasn’t familiar with all of the ones used.
I would recommend this book for ages 14+ and I can’t wait for the next one!
5 Stars!

This sounds like it would be a good book and one I need to find. I love the TV show Grimm and while it might not be the same it seems similiar with the stories and fables.
This sounds like a GREAT read. I will have to check it out! :)
