Last week, I won a gift certificate for flowers (which I originally wanted so that I could send to my twin sister but I received it too late), so I ordered flowers for my mother-in-law and enclosed a card with a note saying “Just Because”. She recently lost two of her sisters and I wanted to give her something to let her know that she is loved.
I won a $25 haircut card and gave it to my friend who hasn’t been able to afford a haircut. (she wouldn’t THINK of taking money from me, but when I win it somehow that’s different in her mind.) Anyway, it makes us both happy.
I love giving gifts out of the blue. Actually, last Friday I bought a dozen steamed crabs for my husband, just because. It was especially appreciated as he had had a rough day at work. Aloha Friday!!
