The Kit-Cat was invented in 1932 in a town in Oregon by Earl Arnault and since that time (including through the great depression), the Kit-Cat Clock has inspired joy in everyone.
The people at Kit-Cat were kind enough to send me my very own Kit-Cat Clock (hyperlink: www.kit-cat.com) and I have to say that in this house, We love it! Along with the clock I also received a very nice greeting card. From the moment I pulled it out of its awesome vintage style packaging my son was curious and I was in love. I think what I like most about my clock is the fact that simply looking at it will induce smiles and silliness.

Assembly of the clock was a minor issue for me. I had trouble removing the back of the clock in order to put the batteries in only to find out that it takes C Cell batteries. I quite literally do not have a thing in my house that uses those anymore so that was kind of an inconvenience. Anyway, if getting the back off was hard then putting it back on was impossible. I had to wait for my husband to get home to do it for me. I want to mention right now that the back problem is probably just me. I always have issues with things like that, its a co-ordination thing. Setting the time on the clock was easy, simply a matter of turning the minute hand and it’s been a few weeks and it still keeps excellent time. I’m curious to see how often I will have to change batteries (I’m guessing not very). Another thing that I would like to say is that this clock is very very quiet. The only time that I hear it is late, late at night when there is no other noise and I’m sitting right next to it, which is a big thing for me because most clocks like that drive me crazy.
Since that day my Kit-Cat clock has say proudly on my wall wagging its tail and shifting his eyes bringing back memories of old-school black and white cartoons that I still like watching, and from which I recognize my Kit-Cat clock. Any of the newer generations that come to my house are curious about it and any of the older generations think its awesome. Almost everyone I know of equivalent age to me or older has some memory they can associate with a Kit-Cat clock.
Along with my clock I received a very cute greeting card with a fantastic message perfect for gift giving. On the front it says “You bring out the smile in me.” and on the inside “Every time you look at Kit-Cat, let your smile come out and remember that you are special to me.” What a great message! Yes the Kit-Cat clock really does make you smile that much!

Kit-Cat Clocks range in price from $39.99 for the classic black Kitty-Cat to $79.99 for one of the Jeweled Lady Kit-Cat Clocks. They come in a variety of colors suitable for any personality or decor.
