I can still remember watching My Little Pony ‘n Friends when I was younger. It was one of my favorite cartoons to watch with my two best friends. So when the My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: Royal Pony Wedding DVD arrived, I was more excited than the kids.

Synopsis:

When it’s announced that Twilight Sparkle’s older brother, Shining Armor, is set to marry Princess Celestia’s niece, Cadence, all the ponies in Equestria should be celebrating. But there’s one pony in Ponyville who’s not so thrilled with the news — Twilight Sparkle! Why is the young unicorn so concerned? And will the royal wedding go off without a hitch? Find out in the two-part special, and then join us for the perfect after-party — three more My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic episodes, all included in the first-ever DVD release of My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic: Royal Pony Wedding!

This DVD was fun to watch. It features colorful, engaging characters that teach kids important lessons about friendship and overcoming challenges. Each episode is entertaining and includes a take away message. The great part about these lessons is that they apply to both kids and adults. Each of the ponies unique personalities show kids that it okay to be different and still be friends. The music is catchy and will be stuck in your head long after you hear a song. I have been singing the Big Brother Best Friend Forever song off and on for the last week. And I’m not ashamed to say I like it more than the kids did.

Although we enjoyed watching all of the episodes our favorite is Sweet and Elite. It was hilarious watching Rarity try to keep up with two parties at the same time. It teaches us that honesty is always the best policy, and how difficult it can be when you overbook events.

The bonus features include a sing-along with songs featured from the DVD and coloring sheets. I was a little disappointed because the Big Brother Best Friend Forever song wasn’t included, but the kids didn’t seem to mind.

Overall this is a great DVD that any My Little Pony fan should have in their collection!
