Seventeen Ultimate Guide to Beauty is jam packed with, well, pretty much everything you could think of to look your best. Whether you are going for a specific look, or you just like playing around with different styles, this book has you covered.
I think that my favorite thing about this whole book is that they are not telling you to go out and buy a specific product. There are no brands, labels or prices to be found within these pages. They only recommend the type of product you could/should use to achieve the results you want. Truth be told this was not what I was expecting. Being as this book is created by Seventeen Magazine I expected it to read just like a magazine, full of brands and labels. I thought it would read like a magazine. I was pleasantly surprised!
The breakdown of this book is easy to follow and understand. It’s very detailed. Makeup is broken into 5 looks: Girly, Glam, Classic, Edgy and Boho. Hair is also broken down into the following: Waves & Curls, Braids & Twists, Ponies and Updos & Buns. I like the way that the book is laid out, it makes it easy to find exactly what you are looking for. The only thing that I don’t like is that there is no section for short hair. I don’t have short hair but I know a lot of people that do and they too need inspiration sometimes.
The third portion of the book is the Ultimate Beauty Resource Guide. It breaks down into the section: Customize your look, Skin, Nails, and Special Occasion. I really liked the advice for getting a Faux Glow for your skin. They offer up alternatives to getting the sun kissed look without exposing yourself to the sun’s damaging rays.
Wow! Yes they actually packed all of that in one book! But don’t get me wrong, it was a fast and easy read. The book doesn’t bombard you with boring stuff either!

I got this book for my daughter and she loved it! I was looking at it myself and there was some great info for everyone.
I love how to beauty books. I always find a tip or two I can use in them.
I like that they don’t suggest specific brands!
