What ways have you paid it forward? I try to help out where and when I can. So, when I was given the opportunity to donate school supplies for a child in need, I was excited. Thanks to Madame Deals Media and Gutzy Gear I was able to help a kid go back to school with everything they needed.
Each blogger was given $25 to purchase 1 backpack to fill with school supplies to donate to the community organization of their choice. Many of the participating bloggers donated to younger kids, but I decided to choose a teenager. I headed to staples since I had a staples reward check that was going to expire soon. Plus I knew that it wouldn’t be crowded, so I could get in and out in 20 minutes tops.

1 Binder
1 Pen style correction tape
1 Pack of Colored pencils
1 Pack of Crayons
1 3-hole binder punch
2 Packs of #2 pencils {not pictured}
1 Pencil sharpener
3 Pack of retractable ballpoint pens {1 not pictured}
= $62.97
I did not include the WordLock, Locker accessory set, highlighters and SIGG bottle since they were donated.
After $10 in rebates, $20 staples rewards check and $15 off coupon my total was $17.97 plus tax.
It was a hot and humid day when I went shopping, so I didn’t really search for deals and clearance items like I should have. I ended up overpaying for the binder ($8.99) and a few of the other items, but overall I am happy with my final total.
The crayons and colored pencils will come in handy for art class. If not, she can pass them on to her little sister who will be getting the Gutzy strap cover and Gutzies provided by Gutzy Gear. I hope that the teen who receives these items likes everything I picked. The last year of high school is usually the most expensive, so I am glad I was able to help the family save some money at the beginning of the school year.
How have you paid it forward? Or have you been the recipient of someone else’s generosity?
No compensation received. Gutzy Gear sent me $25 to purchase school supplies.

You got some great deals. Many years ago when I lost my young son I started picking angels off the various trees around town for 7 year old boys and buying Christmas gifts for them. I don’t see those trees any more, not sure if I’m not looking in the right place, but anyway I now get toys all year long when they are on sale and other great deals for Toys for Tots. I absolutely hate the idea of kids not having a good Christmas.
Wow, this is great! This is truly a complete set of school stuff, too!
We did the same thing at our church. We even included a gift card in with the supplies to Famous Footwear so that they could get a new pair of shoes too.
What a great thing you did! We have twice been the recipients of Christmas presents for our kids anonymously. Both times we were struggling to get by, and it meant so much to us that someone was watching over our family.
I always try to pay it forward where I can. I’m actually owner of a private online group that seeks out families every year to send some Christmas to.

You got some great deals and did a wonderful job. I’ve been on the helping hand from our church at times when we’ve been short on money and needed groceries. They did so much to help us. I try when I have extra money and am not receiving their help to pay it back with canned goods and food for other families. I know for me how much it means to have the help from time to time.
if only deals like this could be found each and every day
glad you were able to take advantage of them for this project
good job
