Shrek’s Spooky Stories

Synopsis:

DreamWorks Spooky Stories is the ultimate Halloween compilation, featuring the spookiest and funniest characters from DreamWorks Animation’s successful Shrek and Monsters vs. Aliens franchises. Join Shrek, Donkey, Puss and B.O.B. as they get the fright of their lives in six fun shorts, including two brand NEW titles: Shrek: The Pig Who Cried Wolf and Monsters vs. Aliens: Night of the Living Carrots.

Our family enjoyed this surprisingly hilarious Halloween themed collection of Shrek and Monsters vs. Aliens short stories. It is full of laughs for both kids and adults, and really got us in the Halloween spirit! I love how it is scary but not too scary that little kids would be afraid.

Shrek’s Spooky Stories Includes:

  • Shrek: The Pig Who Cried Wolf
  • Monsters vs Aliens: Night of the Living Carrots
  • Shrek: The Ghost of Lord Farquaad
  • Scared Shrekless
  • Monsters vs Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins
  • Shrek’s Thrilling Tales.

While the horror parodies are spot-on to an older audience, young kids should still enjoy it and have a few laughs. I for one enjoy Shrek’s crude phrases, witty and cynical humor, so I loved the Shrek episodes.

One of our favorite parts is when Gingy gets scared and poops out jelly beans. We all laughed so hard and loud that we had to rewind the movie several times. And the Shrek version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, was awesome!

Check out a scene from our favorite Shrek Halloween Tale:

Gingerbread Man: Wait! More sugar.
Muffin Man: But that is not the recipe.
Gingerbread Man: Trust me, Muffin Man, this girl’s gotta be real sweet. I want someone who will love me forever.
Muffin Man: I must warn you, Gingy. No one has ever made cookies with this much sugar. You are tampering with forces far beyond your comprehension!
Gingerbread Man: Just put her in the oven.

We enjoyed DreamWorks Spooky Stories, and will be adding it to our 31 days of Halloween movies to watch every year!
