How Do You Achieve Work Life Balance?

I always knew that I’d be a working mom. In my family, working mothers were the norm. Everyone knows that it isn’t always easy balancing work and life, but the women in my family never seemed to mind the hard work. Watching them over the years made me strive harder and reach further knowing that if they could achieve work life balance, I could too.

For me, balancing work and life works best when I set up a schedule, and establish a routine that fits our life. I learned long ago that setting good work and life habits will help you become organized and disciplined. At play dates and PTA meetings I often get, “I wish I could be as organized as you.” “How do you juggle home life and work life?”

Easy I tell them. I have lots of help and support from my husband, mom, dad, brother, sister-in-laws and many other family members. Without them I don’t know what I would do. Their help has allowed me to work hard without feeling guilty. Despite the fact that I work 40+ hours a week, I’m still able to get home to cook a meal and have dinner with my family on most nights. Sure I might miss a practice or two, but I always try not to miss their games or anything else that’s important. And on those rare occasions that I do, I know my family has my back.

I am not the only one dealing with these issues. Friends, family, coworkers and even celebrities like the gospel duo Mary Mary are struggling with balancing work and life. Despite having “it all”, the Campbell sisters have the same struggles as I do.

Mary Mary Season 2

I love this show! It shows women that with the help of family and some adjustments, work life balance is attainable.

It’s situations like these that the three-time Grammy® award-winning gospel duo Erica and Tina Campbell face in Season 2 of WE tv’s hit series Mary Mary as they balance being recording artists, mothers, and wives. MARY MARY premieres Thursday, December 6 at 10|9c and moves to its regular timeslot on Thursdays at 9|8c, beginning December 13.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of WE tv. The opinions and text are all mine.
