The Lay-n-Go is an activity mat that converts into a small bag for easy clean up of toys. The idea behind this mat is brilliant. Kids have tons of little toys and they can get everywhere! A mat underneath their play area allows for you to easily pick up the toys in one swoop making it a great accessory for traveling.

I really enjoyed the idea behind this mat. I think it would be great for use in public places or at a relatives when you want to allow your kids some play space. Unfortunately, I think the Lite version of the mat is really useless in this sense. I know that it is hard to keep my son restrained to one area so trying to get him to keep his toys on an 18 inch mat is impossible. The larger size mat is 5 foot in diameter and would be perfect for us. I think the Lay-n-Go Lite makes a neat little storage bag though and is great for transporting some of his smaller toys in his diaper bag. The bag comes in a variety of colors which is nice since I am sure not all boy-moms are thrilled about a pink mat.
The Lite version is not something I would recommend except for maybe as a storage bag for small toys like we use it for. I definitely think the larger version is a fantastic tool for mothers. The material is easy to clean to, which is great since kids can be so messy! The larger Lay-n-Go might work well as a mat for messy crafts or self feeding too!
