Welcome to Chasing the Witch Author Jessica Gibson! Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer some questions about your life and book!
Chasing the Witch Interview with Jessica Gibson:
If a movie was made about your book, who do you picture playing the lead roles? Why?
Christina Hendrix for Jilly for sure, she just is Jilly so totally. Henry Cavil would be William, he has the right look. Olivia Wilde would be Caroline, she’s so beautiful, and I can imagine her as Caroline. Matt Bomer would play Patrick, well because he just is Patrick!
Please tell us in 20 words or less, why we should read your book.
If you love magic and adventure with a smack of love, then this book series is for you.
Do you bake? If so, box or from scratch?
I love to bake and cook. If I cook, I don’t like to follow recipes, but I do with baking. If I’m pressed for time, I’ll do something out of a box, but I love making things from scratch.
Pet Peeves?
Rudeness! There is no excuse for it. You get much further in life with a smile and a kind word, than a frown and rudeness.
What book is on your night stand now?
I’m currently between books, I just finished Closure by Kim Carmichael last night, and I’m preparing to read Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning.
If you could have a first edition signed copy of any novel, what would it be and why?
Any of Diana Gabaldon’s books in the Outlander series. She is my all time favorite author.
Do you have plans for a new book? Goals for future projects?
Oh yes….I have lots in the works right now. Book 3 in the Boston Witches series, Book 2 in my Blood Ties series, and Haunted U, book 1 in my School Spirits series.
Which of your characters is most/least like you, and in what way(s)?Jilly is very similar to me in personality. She just sort of came out as me lol. She thinks like me.
Have you ever written anything that you thought would be controversial and found it wasn’t?
Actually no. Most of my stuff doesn’t cross any lines.
At what point in your life did you decide you wanted to be a writer?
In my late 20′s. I finally made that leap from reader to writer.
What is your favorite Quote?
You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. C. S. Lewis
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love to read! I used to read 4-5 books a week, but now I’m a mom, and a writer, and an online event planner, so I really don’t have as much time to do it anymore.
If you could get front row tickets to watch any performance live, who would you like to go see?
Well, that depends on the mood I’m in lol. Today, I think I’d like to see Ron Pope. His music is so beautiful.
What do you do to unwind and relax?
Read in a bubble bath :)
What’s your ‘guilty pleasure’ TV show?
Say Yes to the Dress, or anything like that.
Facebook or Twitter?
Facebook…..Twitter baffles me.
Who designed the cover of your book?
Russ Turner of Russ Turner Photgraphy
What is your favorite genre to read/write?
Paranormal! I love to read paranormal, and so far its what I’ve been writing.
How do you react to a bad review?
I wallow for 5 minutes and then I move on.
What’s your favorite holiday?
Christmas or Thanksgiving. I love all the family togetherness.
How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
Dinner with my husband and son.
Cable, Satellite, Antenna or Netflix?
Netflix and Hulu
