Thanks so much to VTech and SocialMoms for introducing me to the VTech Kid Connect App, so that I can stay in touch with niece no matter how many miles apart we are.

It’s no secret that toddlers love technology. Put a tablet or laptop in front of them and watch their eyes light up with joy. They get so excited when they see one of their favorite characters from TV choose the correct animal sound, word, picture or number.

I am amazed at how much technology has changed since my oldest niece was a toddler. Back then she was limited to playing games on the computer/laptop. So much has changed in the last 17 years. Today her sister has access to tablets, smartphones as well as the computer/laptop. Her favorite device at the moment is a tablet. She knows how to turn the iPad and Kindle on. She knows how to slide her finger across it and start her favorite apps. The first time I saw her do it she was one, and ever since I have been encouraging her to play interactive educational games. So when I first learned about the VTech InnoTab 3S, I knew it would make the perfect gift for her.

Ever since my youngest niece was turned two, I’ve been looking for a kid friendly way that I could communicate with her. Something that wouldn’t require her to need a lot of help from her sister or parents. The InnoTab 3S learning tablet solves that problem. It’s the only children’s learning tablet with VTech Kid Connect, a unique, family communication app that helps parents stay connected to their children, anytime, anywhere!

Because I don’t live in the same state as my niece, I am really excited about the new VTech Kid Connect App. It’s a great way for toddlers as young as three to send voice messages, text messages, animated stickers, photos and drawings to their parents, grandparents or in my case aunties smartphones, using a kid-safe, kid-friendly tablet. I can then respond to her, and keep the communication going no matter where I am. And the best part is only parents can approve friend requests. So you don’t have to worry about your kids communicating with random strangers. Another great feature is that kids can stay connected to their friends, siblings and cousins by exchanging messages safely between two InnoTab 3S tablets.

The InnoTab 3S learning tablet comes with a one year free subscription of the Basic Kid Connect App, which includes the text message and stickers features. You can upgrade to a premium Kid Connect subscription for the enhanced features, which include voice messages, photos and drawings.

The InnoTab 3S also features a kid-safe web browser, rechargeable battery and 20 free apps, all for the great price of $79.99. Not a bad price for one of the hottest kids gift items on the market.

At what age did the kids in your life start using technology?

  1. I had a Vtech laptop gadget when I was a few years old in the 90s…it amazes me how technology has advanced so far. I had a green screen with black text where I played Hangman and number games – the stuff kids have now is pure mindblowing!

  2. This sounds safe and fun to use

It’s amazing how each generations the kid has different kind of toy, and its advanced drastically. I never thought of it as something negative, unlike many other people. I guess if I have the money, I would give one for my little cousin’s birthday gift
