If you are like most parents, you are probably dreading that leftover candy that you have when Halloween is over. Sure, it is great for a day or two, but after that – what do you DO with all of it? Cook with it
Many people use the chocolate in other dishes, but did you know you can use more than just chocolate for some yummy holiday treats? Sweeten up smoothies with Sweet-tarts. Use peanut butter or caramel candies for melted toppings on ice cream and even fruits. You can get creative with the pieces your child receive and use them in coffee and latte drinks for flavoring. There is so much you can do!

Use it in gifts
Are you planning a party? Use the leftover candy as part of gift bags and give it away! If you know you will be making gift baskets for Christmas, save the candy that doesn’t have Halloween themed wrappers and place them in the baskets. If they do have Halloween wrappers, you can always rewrap them in Christmas themed papers when the time is right to make the baskets. They can also make great stocking stuffer treats to save yourself some money and you won’t bring extra candy into the home.

Send it to the school
Does your child need to bring a snack for their class each month? Divide the candy into small bags and send it as a treat for the class. This spreads out the sugar and gets it out of your home while saving you money on the school snack.

Donate it
Many daycares and schools use a piece of candy as motivation and rewards for kids. If your child’s daycare or school does that, donate your candy and let the school disburse it for you.

Use it as a reward
Divvy it out into small packages and use it as a reward around your home for completing chores and doing homework. You are going to reward your child with something anyway, so why not make it a small sugary treat that you don’t have to purchase?
