Are you ready to help your children learn another language? There is a lot of research about how children are more likely to learn a language fluently if they are exposed to it before their teen years. Because we live in Los Angeles where Spanish speakers are abundant my nieces have picked up on a few words here and there, so we figured now is the perfect time for them to learn the language. Little Chickies Los Pollitos – Bilingual Children’s Book
I recently had the opportunity to check out the Little Chickies Los Pollitos reversible bilingual children’s book and review it, along with the app. The book is based on “Los Pollitos Dicen” (Little Chickies Squeal), one of the most popular nursery rhymes in Spanish. In the book we meet three little chicks that are hatching from their eggs, but they are singing the song Los Pollitos Dicen, which has a similar tune to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This book is engaging and eye catching with wonderful illustrations for young children (toddler age) but my older nieces and nephews have enjoyed the book just as much. The song is very catchy and they have been singing it and humming it all week long.
Little Chickies Los Pollitos – Multilingual App
Do your children enjoy playing with apps? Well then, you’ll be happy to know they can have even more fun with the Little Chickies Los Pollitos app that is available for smartphones and tablets. This app teaches children the classic Latino nursery rhyme, Los Pollitos Dicen (Little Chicks Say”) and sings in it eight different languages. When you first download the app, you are introduced to three little chicks hatching from their eggs. From their you explore many different places and fun surprises around every click. Your child will get to learn through creativity, language and music. This app is geared towards children ages 2-5, but even older and younger children are entertained by it.
Separately, the book and the app are great and you certainly do not need one to enjoy the other, but together they are amazing and will help encourage young children to learn another language as well as show them all mothers love their children, no matter the species.
