Who talks about fiber? Well, we do around here because fiber is super important to our family’s health. I like to get as much fiber into my family’s diet as possible and here is how we do it. Fiber is what helps keep your body running smoothly. Here are a few things you can do to get more fiber in their systems, plus some tips for healthier living.

Tips for Getting More Fiber Into Your Family’s Diet

1. Drink lots of water – While it is nice having juice from time to time, water is what’s best for your body. In fact, water is what keeps your body’s system moving. Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. You’ll thank yourself for this. Taking care of your body helps you have more energy and live a healthier life.

2. Get moving, when you can – Sitting on the couch and relaxing can feel amazing. However, moving around can help your system get moving. If you have trouble “going” – try getting up and moving. Sometimes it just takes a few walks around the neighborhood.

3. Eat foods high in fiber – Have you ever wondered which foods are good for fiber intake? We eat a lot of beans around here, but there are other foods you can eat to up your fiber intake. Any kind of bean is good for this, but items like chia seeds, popcorn, almonds pears, peas, avocados, and even broccoli are good foods to try out in the fiber department.

4. Up your bean intake – Beans are so good for your heart, but they’re good for your digestive system too. We always have some variety of Bush’s Beans on hand that we purchase at Walmart, but one of our favorites are Garbanzo beans. You can keep your family healthy, happy, and full by feeding them beans from the Bush Brothers.
