Goldie & Bear: Best Fairytale Friends

ONCE UPON A STORY, IN A FOREST FAR AWAY…

“Goldie & Bear” is a fairytale-inspired Disney Junior animated series that premiered in September 2015. The series follows the adventures of Goldie and her newfound best friend Bear following the renowned porridge incident of “Goldilocks and The Three Bears.” Well-known characters from fairy tales, folk tales and nursery rhymes can be seen in the series, including Humpty Dumpty, Little Red Riding Hood, the Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf, who is often referred to simply as “Big Bad.” Goldie and Bear seek out opportunities for fun with their friends, having adventures that often feature a touch of magic.

In this DVD, we first meet up with Goldie and Bear, who is the youngest bear from the original fairy tale. They explore through many of the classic fairy tales and learn fun nursery rhymes, all while laughing and playing fun games. What kid wouldn’t be drawn into this, even I was singing right along with them. We hear about several different fairy tales, with my favorite being:

  • Climb a fun beanstalk with Jack.
  • Try on Little Red Riding Hoods famous red jacket.
  • Try to outsmart the big bad wolf, and find out once and for all if he starts being good.

There are seven total episodes on this DVD. The entire DVD runs for 168 minutes and is safe for all ages to watch. The following episodes are included:

  • The Birthday Chair/Big Bear
  • Fee Fi Fo Shoe/Little Gold Riding Hood
  • Bear’s Red Shoes/Goose Sitters
  • Moon Jump/The Big Good Wolf
  • Pinocchi-itis/The Clubhouse That Jack Built (I sure don’t want to get what Pinocchio has.)
  • Thumbelina’s Wild Ride/Big Bad Houseguests (Thumbelina was my favorite!)
  • The Egg/Golden Kickball

Inside the box, are also a few fun activities that preschoolers can enjoy while watching the movie. Inside is a fun playtime set featuring sticker clings so children can create fun scenes, then take them off and do them all over again. This DVD is really great and features eye-catching colors and scenes as well as fun songs that will have your kids humming them all day.

This DVD is packed full of important life lessons in a fairy tale setting that is sure to keep children entertained for hours. It’s a must-have for children who love fairytales and nursery rhymes. My nieces and I enjoyed this collection of episodes. They are perfect for preschoolers because the characters are loveable and fun making it easy to grab the attention of little ones and hold it throughout each episode from start to finish. I love how Best Fairytale Friends introduces kids to classic Mother Goose characters in a fun and inviting way.

Goldie & Bear: Best Fairytale Friends is available on DVD at Amazon and local retail stores.
