Ella the Elephant Season 1 Volume 1: The Magic of Friendship DVD Review

My nieces love elephants. From the lovable Dumbo to King Babar to the adorable Ella the Elephant series by Carmela D’Amico and Steven D’Amico, they can’t get enough of them. So naturally when Ella came to Disney Junior earlier this year they were pretty excited to see one of their favorite book characters on TV. But not as excited as they were when I told them we would be receiving a copy of Ella the Elephant Season 1 Volume 1: The Magic of Friendship to review on DVD.

Ella the Elephant Season 1 Volume 1: The Magic of Friendship DVD Review

Ella the Elephant Season 1 Volume 1: The Magic of Friendship

Journey to an island of adventures where the magic of friendship has never been so much fun! Join Ella and her kindhearted friends in this all-new animated series featuring eight charming episodes. Elephant Island is home to many curiosities but Ella and her friends’ appetite for fun lands them in some tricky, often hilarious situations. It’s up to Ella’s imagination and her magic red hat to save the day! It’s a must-own collection of delightful stories centered on highlighting teamwork, lessons and adventure for the whole family to enjoy.

I had never watched Ella the Elephant before last week, so when the DVD started I didn’t know what to expect. In fact, I planned on catching up on some work while my nieces watched it. Of course that never happened, I was hooked from the very first episode. I even caught my mom laughing at some of the lines whenever she passed by as the DVD played.

Ella the Elephant Season 1 Volume 1: The Magic of Friendship includes episodes that are quite entertaining. There are eight episodes in this DVD, and each one is filled with a fun and charming story. Once the DVD started, I did not hear anything from my nieces other than laughing and singing. There isn’t much that keeps these girls quiet, so their silence speaks volumes. And speaking of singing the theme song will be stuck in your head a few days after hearing it.

Ella the Elephant teaches kids all about friendship, problem solving and teamwork which is important because my nieces are at the age where they can relate to some of the lessons learned in this DVD. The friendship between Ella and her friends Frankie, Belinda, Tiki, Ada and Ida sets a great example of friendship for little ones. In fact we adults could learn a thing or two from these animated characters.

If you are looking for a series for preschoolers with loveable characters that encourages imagination Ella the Elephant is it. But let me warn you ahead of time that after watching Ella little ones just might want one of those magic red hats that she wears.
