Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to have a healthy Thanksgiving? In fact, you can still indulge and enjoy your holiday without going overboard, and here’s how!

Make Healthy Side Dish Choices

One of the biggest sources of calories for the holidays is the side dishes people eat. Choose healthier side dishes for your meal and save some of those calories for something else. Also, remember to watch what you drink. Liquid calories add up faster than you think.

Keep Portion Sizes Right

You don’t have to eat five rolls for dinner. You may want to, but that just isn’t smart. So, keep your portions in line. One way to do this is to put your food on a small plate and don’t get more than one cup of each food. This will help you keep your indulgences in check while you get to eat all the yummy food.

Choose the Right Desserts

Do you know what is in all those desserts? You can choose healthy pies, cakes, and cookies to eat this year. Do a little research from your phone, if you have to, before grabbing a slice of cake. You can easily find out how many calories are in a single serving (as well as what constitutes a serving). This will ensure you don’t go over your calorie goals by too much as you have fun eating those sweets.

Download Apps

If you think finding out portion sizes, calories, and healthy alternative is hard, think again! You can download apps that will help you make quick decisions while you are on the go and at parties this year. You can also use them to help plan your meals ahead of time and to keep on track with your calorie consumption and workouts.

Don’t Stop Working Out

One of the worst things you can do during the holidays is to stop working out. In fact, you should be doing it more. Try to squeeze in three more 30-minute workouts each week until after the first of the year. This will help combat those extra calories you are bound to intake.
